Chris
Native coordinator
Primary class teacher in Kayapo tribal territory in Xingu Indigenous Park territory. Chris and her husband Marcelo coordinate the expeditions in this part of the Amazon. Chris plans to open an eco-lodge in her village to accommodate visitors from all around the world interested in the Kayapo culture and their jungle ecosystem.
Klysia
Assistant
Last Places Amazon’s project is growing and Klysia is growing professionally and personally with the project. She is from Manaus and assists Marineti with the office work and accompanies some expeditions when needed.
Robson
Native coordinator
Traditional leader of the Marubo tribe, the biggest ethnic group in Javari Valley Indigenous Park. Robson is a long time friend of Marco and assists Last Places Amazon’s team in the organization of expeditions around the Javari Valley region.
Mara
Main guide
Expert in logistics and a great communicator. Mara was born in Manaus, capital of the Amazon, and guides private expeditions to different parts of the Amazon rainforest.
Gibson
Main guide
Formed side by side with Marco, Gibson is another son of the Amazon rainforest. He has become Last Places Amazon’s main tour leader for indigenous expeditions. His main interests are spending time with the different Amazon tribal groups and finding ways to support them through responsible tourism.
Marineti
Office Manager
Life partner of Marco, Marineti grew up in the jungle from a Brazilian settler and a native mother. She is the essence of this last frontier… Marineti takes care of the company’s internal organization and assists the expeditions whenever she’s needed.
Pong Tanthasindhu
Founder & Communication Manager
Globetrotter since he was a kid, Thai Canadian explorer and photographer has been to Brazil’s last places looking for virgin ecosystems and traditional indigenous communities. After working many years in the football industry, Pong decided to focus his life on his two passions; exploration and promoting responsible ways of adventure travelling.
Marco Lima
Founder & Manager
Son of the Amazon River, born in Manaus, the very heart of the World’s biggest rainforest. Passionate biologist, specialized in nut crushing river fish, and fixer for National Geographic, BBC, and famous photographers such as Sebastiao Salgado.
